Being single on Valentine’s Day can be difficult if you focus on what your love life lacks. BUT, it most certainly doesn’t have to be that way. You can choose to make this holiday as big of a deal as you like, it is simply whatever will make you the happiest.
I personally think that the best way to enjoy Valentine’s Day is to focus on the love that IS in your life and celebrate what IS going right for you. Love comes in many forms, it is not just romantic.
The day is all yours and you can choose to spend Valentine’s Day however you want.
You can choose to celebrate the people you care about and catch up (in person!) with a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, call a relative who would love to hear from you or get together with a group of people you enjoy.
You can also snuggle up with your favorite animal, treat yourself to a great new book, or get a relaxing massage. Whatever will bring you joy and isn’t going to hurt anyone is an option!
Almost half of the adult population in the US is single so you are certainly in good company. You have many more Valentine’s Days ahead of you and there are many people with whom you could eventually fall in love with.
Romance can spark at any age and at any time. May your Valentine’s Day be as enjoyable as humanly possible!
Now I want to hear from you, how do YOU like to celebrate Valentine’s Day? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below. Thanks!
You mean “the Hallmark Holiday”. Since I was 10 and a teacher had us make valentine’s and then pass them to the girls we were interested in. They were to do the same for the boys. When everything was done I did not get any cards. Over the years I have had an awful time w/women. I try to talk to them. When I do I get so nervous and awkward things just go south.
That must have been very upsetting to you at such a young age. It sounds like you are now in a negative loop in which you feel nervous when you talk to women and you’re not able to put your best self forward. Since then, have you had any positive experiences with women? Perhaps it would help you to focus on those and release the negative ones?
I wish I had a valentine and I’m hopeful one day I will. For now, I just keep on moving forward. I hope you had a happy Valentine’s Day!
Thanks Lisa! I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day as well and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that next year you have the most wonderful Valentine possible.
