So, Valentine’s Day is Tuesday and at this time of year we are all bombarded with overpriced flowers, heart-shaped everythings and images of fancy shmancy dinners.
Being single on Valentine’s Day can be difficult if you spend it imagining that other people are having ah-mah-zing love lives while yours is in the toilet. BUT, Valentine’s Day can be wonderful for you (yes, YOU) if you spend it appreciating the love that is already in your life!
Perhaps you can facetime with a friend you haven’t spoken to in a while, call a relative who would love to hear from you or get together with a group of people who always make you smile?
Valentine’s Day can be whatever you want it to be and how you choose to spend it is completely up to you. You can choose to spend it reading a great new book, getting a massage or watching your favorite movie.
If you’d like to ADD LOVE to the world perhaps you can compliment someone you admire, volunteer at a local shelter or donate your professional clothes to a great organization. Nothing makes you appreciate what you already have faster than helping someone out when they need it.
Let’s not forget that almost half of the adult population in the US is single so many other singles will be choosing how they spend Valentine’s Day as well. I hope you choose to spend it in the way that makes you feel great.
Now I want to hear from you, how do YOU like to celebrate Valentine’s Day? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below. If you enjoyed this post, please share it with your friends 🙂
