My husband and I recently adopted a cat named Lilly (sitting on the chair) who had been rescued by an amazing organization called All Sentient Beings. Lilly had been abandoned by her previous owners and left to fend for herself one freezing cold night in December. As most of you know by now I love animals and I’m feeling filled with joy that I can provide a loving home for an animal in need.

If you want to get happy quickly, may I suggest that you do something very soon which will make a positive difference to a cause you care deeply about. Giving your time, energy or money (or all 3!) to helping those in need is an amazingly quick way to help you feel happy, powerful, and proud of yourself.

It doesn’t have to be a huge ordeal, you can even just give a compliment to someone you know needs to hear it. Doing something kind without expecting to receive anything for yourself, is the quickest and most direct route to happiness.
